Jonathan Carmin Appolon, whose stage name is Apollo Fresh, was born in New York and raised in Broward County, Florida as a first generation Haitian American. Apollo Fresh was drawn to music from a young age, starting to play instruments and freestyling when he was just 7 years old. This love for music persisted throughout his life and came to a point in high school. He started making his own rap music at 15 when his friends convinced him to make a song after hearing how powerful his freestyles were. At first, he was uneasy about making his own music, but once he took the leap he fell in love with the creative process. He continued to pursue music in college while attending Florida Gulf Coast University. Here he met true challenges balancing his music and his education. During this time Apollo Fresh was balancing a full course load, his mental health, and the rapid success of his first hit. Choosing to not give up on school and graduate while also keeping his music career going was a huge challenge but an extremely important decision. He now takes the feelings he had during this time and channels it into his music. He wants his fans to listen to his music and know they can follow their dreams. He wants his listeners to follow in his footsteps and make the most out of life, whatever that may mean for them. Apollo Fresh works with Blake$ale and other producers to help make his music. He currently has an EP coming out titled “Life is Anime” coming out soon. This EP embodies the enjoyment of life and is sure to light up the charts.
