Ayo Potter was raised in the projects of Landover, Maryland where he was forced to overcome many hardships including being subjected to poverty from a very young age. He started using music as an outlet as a child when he saw music on television shows and noticed the impact it could have on his mood. Having that intense positive feeling from the music he heard made him want to be able to do that for himself. He soon started learning how to play instruments and got in touch with his natural musical abilities. This evolved into him learning to make his own songs and recording. Given the place he grew up in, he was surrounded by tragedy including the loss of many of his close friends. He again turned to music as a medium to help overcome his dark feelings and release positivity into the world. His love for music truly stems from the ability to do anything you want with it. He was inspired by music having no anchor and no limits. He could make anything he wants and share it across his platform. Through his music he speaks to his fans about being true to yourself and being original. He wants other aspiring artists to know that originality pays off and they do not need to copy someone else’s style to be successful. Ayo Potter is currently an independent artist who works with Markizey who is an engineer at Hustle Firm Studio. Together, they produce timeless hits that truly speak to an audience.
