Ilya Matyushin is a 20-year-old videographer and editor from East Tennessee. He developed a passion for videography at a very young age. He started creating videos at just 10 years old for YouTube. He created an audience and following for his YouTube channel and soon fell in love with the process of making videos, specifically cinematography and editing. Ilya would watch other filmmakers and content creators at a very young age to learn and grow as a videographer. He took notes and spent countless hours tweaking his process to make it as perfect as possible. As he got older, he went from making cinematic style vlogs and travel videos to shooting music videos and concert recaps for artists. One of his biggest challenges he needed to overcome was being a perfectionist. Even as a child he constantly watched famous creators and tried to make his own content as good as theirs was. He was always very hard on himself about his work and always was looking for ways to get better. He has since learned the balance between perfectionism and confidence which allows him to make such powerful work. He is now inspired by creatives such as Gibson Hazard, ak Bannon, Tyler Cresser, and Decland Kyle. His overall goal is to make his audience feel something like these creatives he looks up to. He wants whoever is watching his work to be fully engaged with it and walk away with powerful emotion being evoked from the piece. He currently works with FourShadow collective where he can work with people who share his goals and dreams. 2022 will be a big year for FourShadow and Ilya, don’t miss it.
