Richard Parker, also known as Ricardo P, was born in Sacramento, CA on a Navy base as his father was in the Navy. Music has always been a part of his life. He has always been intrigued with how many ways you can tell a story or express feelings through lyrics and a beat. Ricardo P started writing and creating music around the age of 12 and had a natural talent for putting rhymes together. He got more interested in performing in high school when he started doing talent shows, being in the choir at the church, and being in the choir at his high school. He has many different influences on his music career including LL Cool j, Jay-z, Rick Ross, T.I, Nelly, Scarface, UGK, Master P, Drake, E-40, Eric Bellinger, and Ty Dolla Sign. Each of these artists have different styles and bring something different to the table which Ricardo P uses to form his delivery style and lyrics. Through his music he hopes people can take away a better understanding of who he is as a person and know whatever they want in life is attainable if they go at it with everything they have. He strives to make good music that people can enjoy no matter their mood or setting. He is currently working as an independent artist and has his own label “I Believe in Me” but is hoping to sign with a major label soon. He currently works with producers who take his ideas and create beats for his music. He has worked with many producers but most notably would be Grammy Award winner, Dem Jointz. He recently released a new single “Clean” along with its video and “No Reason” shortly before that. He is currently working on an EP and will be releasing new music to build up its release.
