Shabam, born Shubham Parmer, is a talented artist who is originally from India and is now based in Los Angeles where he has been for almost 3 years. Shabam has always been interested in listening to new music and then would pay attention to details in the song and try to sing it as is. Once he realized he had a natural ability to sing he decided to take on music full force. He then learned that he was a skilled writer as well which launched his musical dreams. His journey has not always been an easy one. Before coming to Los Angeles, he was in the darkest place of his life for 6 years. This was because he was trying to follow his dreams in music while getting a lot of push back from his society and culture. Shabam explains that Indian culture can be very narrow minded, and this culture wants everyone to follow the paths of either doctors or engineers. When trying to do something different than what society teaches you to do, suddenly you will feel everyone is against you. Shabam luckily had very supportive parents who taught him to never give up no matter what he faces in his life. Shabam listened to his heart and kept following his passion for music. This passion was what pulled him out of this dark time which is why it means so much to him. He strives to portray his morals of being honest with yourself, self-love, and self-confidence through his music. He does this in his newly released single “I Bow to You.” His next hit is already in the works and will be debuting this coming year.
